In our Young Preschool room we create an environment that engages the very busy and curious minds and one that also promotes self-help skills such as potty training, dressing and feeding ourselves, and cleaning up our toys.

While we are still working on growing our vocabulary we also start to see and encourage children move from parallel play to cooperative play in this classroom and encourage problem solving skills that come along with learning how to go from playing next to our peers to actively playing with our peers.

Our weekly themed lesson plans, using the Creative Curriculum, paired with the PA Learning Standards for Early Childhood, include daily art projects, language development through finger-plays, singing, nursery rhymes, and story time, hands-on sensory exploration at our sensory table, fine and gross motor skill building, and so much more, all of which are aligned with the Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Early Childhood.

In Young Preschool, we begin learning about colors, shapes, and numbers and counting to help us prepare for PreK.

Room Capacity: 16
